Profemur® stems

Profemur® XM — classic cemented stem

Material: High-nitrogen stainless steel (ISO 5832-9)
Sizes: 00–4, straight and other options
Depth: Laser markings for depth indication
Insertion: Threaded insertion feature for rotational control during implantation
Surface: Highly polished to reduce friction at the cement–implant interface and the potential for wear
Geometry: Rounded edges promote radial compressive loading; dual-taper geometry promotes cement engagement and rotational stability

Profemur® Gladiator® — classic and modular stems

Material: Forged titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V) with HA coating to enhance osteointegration and fixation
Sizes: Collared and collarless stems in sizes 1–10; modular options also available
Lateral shoulder: Reduced material helps conserve bone and ease insertion
Macro-features: Additional rotational stability and maximised compressive loading
Collar: Rotational stability and protection against subsidence
Tip: Reduced tip to minimise point contact in the thigh
Modular neck: Reduced profile increases range of motion compared with standard fixed necks
Instruments: One set of broaches for all stem versions

Profemur® Z — classic and modular stems

Sizes: Primary stem in sizes 1–9, with a proportional increase in collar height
Geometry: Dual-taper geometry for optimal primary fixation and load transfer; rectangular cross-section for rotational stability and bone conservation
Trochanteric wing: Contributes to proximal fill and rotational stability
Surface: Grit-blasted titanium (8 µm Ra) promotes bone on-growth and implant stability
Impaction: Dimpled driving platform; rounded distal tip for thigh comfort

Profemur® Gladiator® system — simply versatile

Triple-wedge taper design

From high-demand cementless patients to low-demand cemented options, the Gladiator® family accommodates each surgeon’s preference. Based on the long-established tapered dual-wedge concept, the triple-wedge taper is designed for femoral conformity, while the proximal trapezoidal cross-section provides axial and rotational stability.

Gladiator® plasma stem (collarless): proximal titanium plasma spray, 0.5 mm circumferential, for initial stability
Gladiator® HA collared stem: full hydroxyapatite coating, 65 µm
Both cementless options: standard (135°) or valgus (127°) necks, standard and extended offsets, 10 sizes
Cemented option: forged CoCr alloy, matte finish, collared, 5 sizes
Reduced lateral shoulder for ease of insertion; bullet-shaped distal tip
